Adoro la carta stampata. Da sempre accumulo carta: libri, riviste, giornali, depliant, biglietti del cinema e via dicendo. Ogni volta che decido di liberarmene trovo ottimi, o almeno sufficienti, motivi per conservare almeno delle pagine. Da quando fotografo le mie creazioni di bigiotteria tutto questo materiale sta avendo nuova vita.

Il progetto “altered art” semplicemente ne cambia l’utilizzo: da testi e immagini (o associazioni mentali) prendo l’ispirazione per creare queste perle di carta che trasformano ulteriormente il supporto con nuovi e sorprendenti risultati. In alcuni casi le creazioni sono omaggi ad artisti che ammiro. Queste perle (che vengono verniciate con 3 mani di vernice all’acqua ecologica) hanno anche l’indubbio pregio di essere leggerissime, per cui è possibile creare collane molto lunghe senza lo svantaggio dell’eccessivo peso. I monili realizzati, in cui alle perle in carta riciclata si abbinano metalli, vetri, pietre dure etc.,  sono assolutamente unici e irripetibili.

I always loved paper and the printed texts and I have always collected newspapers, magazines, books, used cinema stubs. Every time I decide to throw away things I find new reasons to keep few ripped, pages, pictures, catalogues and brochures. Since I started taking pictures of the jewellery that I make this obsession with paper has begun to have a life of its own.

The project ‘altered art’ simply uses recycled paper, texts  and images and changes the use that I make of the paper I collect. I am inspired to create paper beads that further transform the object ‘paper’ and gives surprising jewellery. In some cases I pay homage to artists, painters, photographers that I admire, in others the mental associations are accidental and the creations are unexpected.

The paper beads are varnished with 3 coatings of a water-based, ecological paper varnish and they have the advantage of being extremely light. With this technique I can design very long necklaces that can be worn very easily. I put together paper, metal, glass, precious stone beads to create very personal and unique pieces.
